Baby and You
We will play and move together using developmental movement patterns and sensory experiences. Throughout the class, we will sing, spin, jump, skip, laugh, and dance together. While the focus of the class is movement, there will always be an opportunity for parents to discuss and share parenting strategies with each other.
Infant Massage
Parents come learn to massage their babies in a welcoming and supportive class! Massage is best for newborn babies up to crawling, however, all babies up to one year old are welcome. Parents participating will receive complimentary handouts of strokes learned, a free little bottle of massage oil. Ms. Carolyn is certified through the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM).
Bustin’ Loose With Mother Goose
The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® is a group experience for parents and their babies and young children which focuses on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs, music, movement and stories together. Parents gain skills and confidence in these areas with their child.
Bonding with Baby!
During this class we will sing and move with our little ones. We will be using some special
movements to help with Brain development, teaching some neat infant massage techniques and doing some singing to enhance our special bond with babies while stimulating their language/communication skills.

MDC Competitors Program
In our competitive program, dancers will train a minimum of 2.5 hours a week, will perform at 3 or 4 competitions/festivals and participate in our year end recital. This program is designed for ages 8 and up and is split into levels determined by ages, skill level, and hours of dancing per week. For dancers ages 5 and up interested in competing, please view our pre-competitive option below.
-
How leveling works:
A dancer's level will be determined using the following criteria:
Age: age will be considered during placement in order to follow competition guidelines.
Skill requirements: an ever-changing list of skills that must be correctly and consistently executed before advancement to the next level.
Behavior: a dancer's attitude, willingness to learn, attendance, and accountability will be considered when being assessed.
Assessments:
Returning students will be assessed throughout the season to determine their placement for the following season. MDC teachers will make placement decisions, and the student’s level for the next season will be noted on the year-end report card.
New students are invited to a meet-and-greet with a parent or guardian. During this meeting we will review prior training and discuss appropriate class levels; if needed, we may offer a private assessment. Afterward we will place the student in the level that best fits their abilities at our studio.
*Placements may shift during the first two weeks of classes if we determine your dancer is better suited to a different level.

At Maddox Dance Company, “Extra Work” refers to solos, duets, trios, and sometimes small groups. All of which are an exciting opportunity for dancers to grow artistically and technically in a more personalized setting.
Extra Work is not only an honor—it’s a responsibility. Dancers chosen for Extra Work are expected to demonstrate outstanding dedication, focus, and work ethic both inside and outside the studio. This privilege is earned through commitment and consistent effort, and we hold our Extra Work dancers to the highest standard of excellence and professionalism.
Please review the Extra Work Information Package to apply!

At MDC we offer RAD Ballet Exams and ADAPT Jazz and Tap Exams.
Dance exams accelerate technical and artistic growth by providing clear milestones, encouraging consistent practice, and building confidence through measurable progress. Preparation enhances discipline, attention to detail, musicality, stage presence, and resilience. External assessment delivers objective feedback for teachers and families, guiding instruction and identifying strengths and areas for improvement. For aspiring artists, graded exams support audition readiness and professional credentials; for children, they promote focus, teamwork, and a lasting love of dance.
Dancers deemed ready for an exam will be invited to participate. Some students may be required to attend additional preparation classes. Exam costs will be communicated with invitations.
Exams run only in seasons when there are sufficient dancers ready and adequate interest from families.
